Weed Tree, Palindrone, Cigarette at Crittenden 08/14/2011

Palindrone makes their way back to their old dwelling.  Psych folk rock noise all around.

Weed Tree - No, not that kind of weed tree.  The kind that grows really fast (experimental guitar and drums).

Palindrone - Psych, folk, and rock jams.

Cigarette - Melodies from VA.

Back on top - Ruin Lust and Ash Borer live 07/13/2011

Shit was down, but Tumblr fixed it (thanks!)  This show was the “grand opening” of the Corpse Fortress basement.  Two folks who I like a whole fucking bunch painted the whole thing with skulls and beer cans.  Floor to ceiling.  And put “Corpse Fortress” in a root font on the back wall.  It’s classy now.

Spirals and Ilsa also played.  Spirals sounded perfect, Ilsa is playing new material.  Look for other sets on here for both bands.

Ruin Lust - never heard ‘em before, but the demo is damn good

Ash Borer - pumped to get a chance to see these guys

BodyCop’s Last Show at the Black Cat

This one’s just for fun.  BodyCop’s last show as heard through someone (not Charred Resistors, so thanks to the person that recorded it!) recording on a Fisher Price battery-powered cassette deck.  Yeah, the one you had when you were a kid.  It’s blown out and loud and you can’t hear anything.  It’s basically a noise tape, but what the hell, remember BodyCop however you want.  It’s over.

BraveYoung, The Body w/ The Assembly Of Light Choir, and Ilsa at St. Stephen’s Sanctuary 06/24/2011

Live, in the Sanctuary of St. Stephens.  Echos everywhere.  Mic’s quit a bit better than most shows.  It sounded / sounds amazing.

BraveYoung - post-rock like later Isis.  Perfect for a giant church.

The Body w/ the Assembly Of Light Choir - The Body with a 13 person all-women choir, with half the set being just the choir.  Again, perfect for a church.  There are very little vocals from singer of The Body (but you can hear them) because he has no mic.  He’s screaming over the onslaught of noise that The Body makes.

Ilsa - The guitars and base sound like they are 100ft tall stacks, the drums sound like they were played in a cave, and the singer sounds like the mere act of being in a church is torturous.
